Valquiria was born under the question: what if we stop to see that we destroy everything that gives us life?
Would we regenerate it or save it?
The inspiration of the main character who carries this collection, is a modern Valkyrie, that has lived several times and has been present since the beginning of Norse mythology. This design seeks to provide the next message: "stop to observe the nature and see those details that we are destroying".
PROCESS
Sketches & embroidery tests for final parts
Tailoring techniques with couture finishes were used to create this design.
First, for the tailor shirt with sportswear touches, a gradient print was made, which was inspired by the northern lights of Nordic mythology. For the second piece, the oversize coat, the assembly process was through tailoring techniques combined with a more contemporary pattern.
Embroidery
A gradient pattern of marbled forms, inspired by the northern lights of Norse mythology.
The main inspirations of the embroidery were the northern lights and the organic movement.
Aditionally, the sequins were manipulated through heat and skinned to create a unique marbling. Also, the light volume was made with hexagonal and octagonal chamois to create 3D textures.
